BlueAnn with Healthy Snacks Snack Ideas for Busy Kids

Dried fruit, such as raisins or apricots
Fruit-flavored breads or bagels
Little boxes of dry cereal
Muffins or breadsticks
Fresh fruit, such as bananas, apples
or oranges
Fresh veggies, such as baby carrots
or celery sticks
Popcorn (unbuttered)
Yogurt
Fig-filled cookies, animal crackers, vanilla
wafers, gingersnaps or graham crackers
Energy or fruit bars
Rice cakes spread with applesauce
or peanut butter
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Peanut butter on bananas or celery
Cheese sticks


A fun recipe you can fix as a snack:
Trail Mix

Peanuts
Raisins
Plain candy-coated chocolate candies
or carob chips
Dried banana chips
(or other favorite dried fruit)

Mix ingredients in a plastic bowl and seal. Dip out trail mix and serve in small cups. Scoop up some of the mix and seal in a plastic baggie for a great lunch box treat or backpack snack for the afternoon ride home.
