1.
Protect yourself and your location; don’t give out your personal information.
Never give out personal information such as your name, home address, school name, and age or telephone number.
2.
Use a code name, not your real name.
Instead of using your real name, you should use a code name like Moonbeam or LUV2SK8. You can have fun and be
creative when deciding what your code name should be. Only your friends and family will know your code name, so
using a code name can protect you from online strangers! Click here for more ideas on how to create your own code name.

3.
Be aware of online danger, never chat with cyber strangers.
Don’t talk to strangers, agree to phone them or e-mail photos of yourself to them. Especially don’t give them your
personal information. Remember that because you can’t see or hear the person online, it could be easy for someone
to pretend to be someone else.
4.
Always get adult permission to help you make the right decisions.
Never give out personal information unless you have your parent’s permission. Always tell your parent if a stranger
e-mails you, sends you an instant message, or starts a conversation with you in a chat room. Never respond to
messages that make you feel uncomfortable. If you get a message that makes you feel uncomfortable tell an adult
right away.
