Did we mention prevention?
Although there is no way to completely avoid getting a rash, here are some tips to help reduce your risk of getting a rash:
If you are allergic to poisonous plants, learn what they look like and avoid them. Also, it may help to wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors, especially in the woods.
If bug bites cause rashes, have your parent help you apply some insect repellent to your skin before going outside.
For allergic dermatitis or irritant contact dermatitis, avoid the substance that causes your allergic reaction.
If you have eczema, stay away from harsh soaps that dry out your skin. Use moisturizing lotions or creams to help keep your skin moisturized.
Always wear sunscreen to avoid a red and itchy sunburn.
